Javier and Roberta are partners in both life and art, blending centuries-old methods with modern curiosity. Based in Florence, they co-founded a working art studio where they create original works, develop pigment collections, and lead workshops across Europe.

Javier arrived in Florence with a grant to restore antique furniture and gilding. After years in the field, he earned his diploma from Florence’s Art High School and now works across disciplines—from sculpture and painting to lighting and custom furniture. He’s deeply passionate about traditional techniques and the craft of making natural pigments.

Roberta is a self-taught, experimental artist with a foundation in ancient iconographic art. Her work spans watercolor, mural painting, gilding, and decorative finishes. Her passion for color, form, and material is the heart of her teaching, and her creative path deepened after meeting Javier. Together, they bring a collaborative energy to every project and retreat, encouraging students to explore their own unique process through structured guidance and shared exploration.
